Personal lubricant manufacturing process

The manufacturing of personal lubricants is a precise process involving the formulation of specialized chemicals to ensure safety for internal use. 1. Raw Material Selection

The process begins with sourcing medical-grade ingredients:

• Base: Purified water (water-based), Dimethicone (silicone-based), or plant oils (oil-based).

• Thickeners: Cellulose derivatives (HEC) or Carbomer to create the desired viscosity.

• Humectants: Glycerin or Propylene Glycol to retain moisture.

• Preservatives/Buffers: Citric acid (pH balance) and antimicrobial agents like Potassium Sorbate.

2. Blending and Homogenization

Ingredients are mixed in high-shear stainless steel tanks. Water-based formulas typically follow a "cold process" where polymers are hydrated in water, followed by the addition of humectants and preservatives. Silicone formulas require specialized mixers to ensure various viscosities of dimethicone blend smoothly.

3. Quality Control (QC)

Every batch undergoes rigorous testing to meet ISO 13485 standards:

• Viscosity & pH: Ensuring the product feels right and matches the body's natural chemistry.

• Microbial Testing: Verifying the absence of pathogens like Candida albicans.

• Osmolality: Ensuring the concentration doesn't damage sensitive tissues.

As a lube factory, we will offer COA for each batch goods. So clients no need to worry quality.

4. Filling and Packaging

The finished lubricant is moved to automated filling lines. Tubes or bottles are filled, induction-sealed for tamper evidence, and labeled with batch numbers and expiration dates for traceability. Or if you want to use own version packs, we also can custom make for you, such as some clients want the card pack, and candy sachet packed lube, which also possible to make. And packed into the display box and cartons, and then delivery into market.
